Zimmerman Wounded in Road Rage Incident
Police said it seemed to be a “road-rage incident,” according to the FOX 35 television station in Orlando. WESH-TV in Orlando said Zimmerman’s injury was minor.
Zimmerman did not fire a firearm in the incident, the Orlando Sentinel reported, pointing out a report by police in Lake Mary, Florida, a suburban area of Orlando where the incident took place.

George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder charges in the 2012 shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in Florida, sustained a minor injury following being actually fired at in a road-rage altercation on Monday, media reports reported.
Police spokesperson Bianca Gillett pointed out the shooting was under examination but did not offer specifics.
An attorney for Zimmerman claimed a bullet missed his head however, he was hit by broken glass from the automobile, according to WESH. The television station also pointed out that a bullet hole could very well be seen in the passenger window of Zimmerman’s car.

Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said Zimmerman sustained a slight gunshot wound. While community media reporters suspected it may have been a road rage problem, mentioning a 2nd individual seen in a motor vehicle at the scene, the police department did not swiftly produce any detailed information. Video footage from the incident seems to show Zimmerman being assisted from his vehicle into a hospital wagon.
