Anti-Racism protests in Tel Aviv

Numbers of people hurt during anti-racism demonstration in Tel Aviv triggered by cruelty against a black soldier.

The protesters, Israeli Jews of Ethiopian origin, were demonstrating on Sunday in opposition to what they claimed was police racism and brutality following a video surfaced recently revealing police officers pushing and punching a black soldier.

“All suffered light injuries to the head and upper body,” Hanna said. Hanna mentioned that it was notable that the injuries weren’t more severe, when Israeli police confrontations with Palestinian protesters typically concluded with much more serious injuries or fatalities.

“Very clearly, the Israeli police are capable of riot control that does not involve the loss of human life or severe injury.”.

The protest turned violent when it ultimately relocated to Rabin Square, where Israeli riot cops and special forces shot stun grenades and water cannon into the groups.
